What is a short haul move?
This is a move that is less than 450 miles. Make sure to inquire with your moving company as you may have to pay long distance charges even for short haul moves.

What is a local move?
This usually refers to moves that are less than 100 miles and within the same state.

What is an intrastate move?
This refers to a move of more than 100 miles within the same state.

If I’m moving internationally, how will I know which items I can’t bring with me?
Your moving company should provide you with a list of custom regulations for your destination country. This document will indicate which items are prohibited or restricted by the particular country.

What is a moving kit?
This is a kit that has been designed by professional packers to include everything you need to pack an entire home or apartment.

What are wardrobes? ?
These are special boxes that are designed to hold your clothes. Some come equipped with a hanging rod and can fit clothing from up to 3 linear feet of closet space. 

Do I have to tip movers?
Tips are certainly not mandatory. However, you may want to consider tipping your movers and packers for the service they provide, depending on their quality and professionalism. If employees have gone above and beyond their job, they will certainly appreciate being rewarded for a job well done.

What is a re-weigh?
Depending on the type of estimate you obtained, your goods may be re-weighed once they have been loaded on to the moving truck or van. In this case, your moving charges will be based on the re-weighed amount.

What should I do if one of my items is damaged during the move? 
Professional movers and packers do their best to ensure all your belongings arrive safely to your destination. However, damage sometimes occurs. In this case, please email or call your moving company as soon as possible with the details.  

Can movers transport my hot tub or spa?
Yes, but moving companies will charge extra because these items require a special dolly and flatbed truck.

Should I disassemble my furniture before the move?
You can do this if you have time, but it’s not required. If your movers need to dismantle any furniture, they will reassemble it in your new home.

Can my moving company store my items temporarily?
Some moving companies will temporarily store your items in a safe storage facility. However, you have to pay for any warehouse valuation coverage, final delivery charges from the warehouse and any storage charges.

What is in interstate move?
This refers to a move to another state where you cross another state’s border.
